Update! Thanks to 55 of you not paying attention, I now have an albino llama. Do we really not care about what others think this much??? My friend who has been begging for them has a whopping seven now.
A-Kon was a lot of fun! Surprisingly, attendance did seem noticibly down from last year, probably due in part to the economy, partially due to a lot of popular artists not getting a table. I was able to recover from this convention unusually quickly. Usually when I get home from a convention, it's straight to bed for about four hours. That didn't happen this time. I did almost get first degree burns from the sinks in the con when I tried to wash my hands... the water was very hot and sometimes would just trickle out. (That will be showing up in SAFG someday.) I also dumped a ton of flyers promoting Secret Agent Fangirl. I also pitched the idea of helping David Hutchison write the third installment of Dragon Arms. He said he would have to "wait and see" on this. Even though there wasn't a DA meetup I met someone who told me that he had the same problem I'm having with my avatar and sig three years ago, and the only way to fix it is to get a premium subscription. Right when I can't afford it, but we'll see.
Now onto the artwork: I chose as a theme Queen's Blade. Here are the results:

Among the artists you will see works by:
... and many more!
I also saw some animes that I really liked, like Valkyria Chronicles. Fans of Fullmetal Alchemist might like this one. There are some sexy babes and bishonen guys in it.
Next con up is next month, and that's San Japan. I put in for time off from the day job to go down there, but they tell me they won't know until two days before the date whether I can go or not.
Note: Because I'm in a con mode now, I'll be laying off the commissions for a while. In addition, I got my truck back and it doesn't seem to be running very well.

That said, I'm still not totally sure what the Llamas even are. I disappeared from the net for April Fools and was just generally taking care of other things, and when I got back, dA was pretty transformed from the way it used to be.
The same day they introduced the llama thing, most likely to keep more people from getting as upset as I did. However, I wasn't alone in hating this, but I was alone in voicing my displeasure to the mods.
The price you pay for veneration is conformity.
I'll be in touch.
