A.k.a. My wife (or madam) is a Magical Girl ~ Bewitched Agnes~, this series focuses on something never really asked before in anime: what's a magical girl to do when she's no longer a girl? Ureshiko Asaba is the heroine Agnes Bell, protector of the town of Wonderland. The main conflict here is that she's about to retire, but her replacement sees Wonderland as a dull and boring town, and wants to replace it completely. Since Ureshiko's mother created the place long ago, she doesn't want to see any dramatic changes. It's a tale of letting go and trusting others, very loosely based on the American TV show Bewitched (Which was quite popular in Japan when introduced; in fact, it's the inspiration for the first ever magical girl anime in 1966.) Advising Ureshiko are her friends Nori and Ururu.

Left to right: Nori Mitsuki, Ureshiko Asaba and Ururu Kinjou.

Yes, I had read about Bewitched's influence from Jonathan Clements. It also is the reason why Lum in Urusei Yatsura and Chocolate in Sorcerer Hunters call their men "Darling" in English (a close-enough approx. of Darren, the husband in the TV show). Sailor Moon always seemed to dodge that issue. Hooters really isn't a job for frilly but still proper magical girl costumes. Of course, some customers would just say, "Lay off the bibbity bobbity boo bull patties and just bring me my beer the normal way." Nice work.
